The words featured in this quick, fun, and competitive game centre around the common graphemes ‘ai’, ‘ay’, and ‘aigh’. 
 
‘The Snail Trail' is designed for two to four players who should possess a solid foundation in alphabet sounds, long vowels, ‘ch’, ‘or’, ‘er’, ‘ze’, and ‘y’ (as /ee/), as well as familiarity with the schwa. Having said that, words containing unknown graphemes or code knowledge can be withdrawn from the playing pack and it will not alter the game's effectiveness.
 
The game includes a variety of words, including many of high frequency, and a few challenge words containing multiple closed syllables.
