EXPLORING OUR DECODABLE EBOOKS

Our decodable eBooks are carefully crafted to cater to learners at different stages of their literacy journey. Divided into four sets based on text types – CVC words, noun phrases, fragments and sentences, and longer sentences – each eBook offers a unique learning experience.

'Are you Right?' CVC eBooks

Our CVC eBooks are perfect for those who are beginning their literacy journey. No heart word knowledge is required, only the knowledge of the focus graphemes and the ability to blend together three sounds.

In the beginning stages, we have limited the use of capital letters unless they are formed in the same way as their lower case pair.

'Are you Right?' Noun Phrase eBooks

Once learners have gained confidence and fluency with CVC words, they are ready to take the next step in their literacy journey with our Noun Phrase eBooks. These specialised eBooks focus on reinforcing comprehension and expanding vocabulary through carefully crafted noun phrases.

Each eBook presents text composed of only two words, centered around a noun. These phrases, devoid of punctuation or capitalisation, will have the learners encounter familiar determiners such as the heart words 'a', 'the', and 'my', which will help specify the noun's context or ownership.

In addition to determiners, the noun phrases may include adjectives or other modifiers, enriching the descriptive aspect of the text.

'Are you Right?' Fragment and Sentence eBooks

Our Fragment and Sentence eBooks are designed to further expand learners' literacy skills beyond CVC words and noun phrases. These eBooks offer a blend of short fragments and complete sentences.

In the Fragment section, learners encounter concise textual snippets, such as 'A pot' and 'A tin and a can'. These fragments serve as building blocks for understanding sentence structure and developing reading fluency.

Moving on to the Sentence section, learners are introduced to complete sentences, like 'Pip is in the pit'. These sentences offer opportunities to practice comprehension and contextual understanding while reinforcing phonetic principles.

'Are you Right?' Sentence eBooks

Our Sentence eBooks mark the culmination of the 'Are you Right?' series, offering learners the opportunity to advance their reading skills with engaging longer sentences and including a wider range of alphabet sounds in each sentence.

In this final stage of the CVC journey, learners encounter sentences such as 'The tin is on the mat' and 'The old man sat in the big red bus', which provide a comprehensive reading experience. Through exposure to longer sentences, learners develop further fluency with CVC words containing their alphabet sounds.
