‘Steal!’ has been designed as a fun way to revise many of the graphemes contained in Stage 3.

The words used may also revise previously taught knowledge from Stages 1 and 2. This game not only sharpens the child’s sound recognition but also promotes fluency in a number of high frequency words.

‘Steal!’ is suitable for two to four players who must have the ability to blend four sounds together and knowledge of the graphemes: 'ng', 'ae', 'oe', 'ue', 'y' (as /ee/ and /igh/), 'ie', and 'igh'.

This game does offer versatility, allowing you to tailor the game to the specific graphemes your group is currently mastering. Each colour group corresponds to a specific grapheme; for example, red represents ‘ng’. If the child (or group) does not yet have that knowledge, simply withdraw all of the red cards.
