Stage 1 is the ideal starting point for beginners with no prior knowledge, as well as remedial students with limited understanding of alphabet phonemes and graphemes.

Teaching Instructions
Step 2 – Teaching Cards (26 total)
Each card introduces a new grapheme and includes phonemic awareness word lists (oral only and with the inclusion of letters), detailed lesson guidance, and the heart words to be introduced.
Step 3 – Teaching Cards (44 total)
Used once the child has graduated from Step 2. These lesson cards include words for spelling, text for dictation, and heart words that align with those introduced in Step 2.
Step 3 – Student Cards (44 cards)
Each card provides space for revising recently introduced graphemes, words to read, known heart words to review, and a selection of decodable text matched to the child’s current skill and knowledge level.

Pause 1 and Pause 2 Lists
Two assessment checkpoints: one completed after all graphemes have been introduced, and one at the end of the CVCC and CCVC lessons.
Check 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5
Five different Check assessments are included. These tests are completed along the way to ensure that the child has mastered the grapheme, phoneme, and letter formation knowledge for each set before progressing.
