The I am and I am a... Series offers a unique approach to decodable reading. Unlike traditional decodable readers, these books are not stories. Instead, each book uses a repeated sentence starter to provide focused, repetitive decoding practice. This predictable sentence structure allows beginning readers to concentrate on decoding while building confidence, accuracy and fluency.

This bundle contains 5 eBooks (6 books in total, including two alternative editions of Book 87 with either "mom" or "mum"), making it suitable for both North American and British/Commonwealth English users.

Every eBook:

  • uses the repeated sentence starter “I am" or "I am a...”

  • includes the heart words I and a

  • includes carefully selected graphemes for focused decoding practice

  • includes capital letters where specified

  • contains pages of decodable text

  • is followed by picture confirmation, encouraging children to decode the text before confirming meaning through the illustration

  • has been designed to complement any structured literacy programme.
